Steve Cheskin

SteveCheskinSteve Cheskin joined Reelz in April of 2013. He is responsible for program development, production, scheduling and acquisitions at the network. Reelz concentrates on contemporary documentary storytelling focusing on topics with connections to Hollywood/movies and/or celebrities. Reelz has doubled it's amount of original programming in the last 3 years with over 200 hours of original hours scheduled in 2018. The network has achieved record ratings growth during this time with shows like Autopsy: The Last Hours of..., Behind Closed Doors, The Real Story of..., Collision Course, Murder Made Me Famous, Scandal Made Me Famous and Copycat Killers.

Prior to joining REELZ, Steve was the Executive Vice President of Programming at TLC. During his time there TLC led all cable networks in successful launches of new series. Programs developed during this period include Sister Wives, Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta, Sarah Palin's Alaska and Extreme Couponing. Before TLC, Cheskin was the Senior Vice President of Programing at WEtv. Under Cheskin’s leadership, the network significantly increased its original programming including hits Bridezillas, The Locator and My Fair Wedding. Delivery in the network's primary demographics increased over 100% by the time he left the network.

Previously, Steve worked for Discovery Communications for 18 years. Beginning his career at The Discovery Channel, Cheskin created Shark Week, which has been inducted into the cable marketing hall of fame. Moving to TLC Cheskin became Vice President of Programming. During this period, programs including Trauma, Junkyard Wars andTrading Spaces were developed and helped build the network into one of cables top performers. He then became General Manager of the Travel Channel where the network quickly became one of the fastest growing networks both in ratings and distribution. The network’s hit series The World Poker Tour helped launch the nationwide poker craze.
