Upper classmen attending the NBS-AERho convention: this is an opportunity to climb the professional ladder quickly.

Two prominent cable networks are planning to hold informal job fairs specifically for 2017 NBS-AERho convention attendees. The job fairs will be part of the Friday, March 24 media facility tours. The job fairs will be competitive and your resume will have to be selected in advance in order to participate. A maximum of 15 candidates will be allowed to participate at each job fair.

This is an unheard of chance to get a leg up on a potential full-time job at a network when you graduate. There may also be summer internships available for those who will be returning to school in the fall.

It’s well known that both Bloomberg Television News and Fox News are considered a great place to work and grow. NBS-AERho members who toured their facilities during previous New York conventions raved about the people and the work environment.

Here’s the process to apply for this opportunity:

  1. Update your resume. Review it, revise it, proof it, have someone else proof it, and make sure there are no spelling errors.
  2. Research both companies. Read about them and watch them!
  3. Write a one-page cover letter telling the screeners why you should participate in this session and why you should be hired to work for them. (You may write one cover letter or you may write a cover letter for each company.)
  4. Then review your cover letter, revise it, proof it, have someone else proof it, and make sure there are no spelling errors or grammatical errors.
  5. E-mail your resume and cover letter to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by March 8, 2017.

Being selected for this process will provide you with a valuable experience to meet with network personnel on an intimate basis. It will provide you with great depth in how the job search process works. It may even lead to a job.

Part of our mission statement says “NBS-AERho connects students with practicing professionals; emphasizes industry ethics, diversity, and inclusiveness; and promotes opportunities for excellence in leadership, community service, and production.” This is your ultimate opportunity to advance your future now!
