Directions to the Statue of Liberty

Interested in visiting the Statue of Liberty or the place where your ancestors came to when they arrived in the United States? Below are directions to both the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Keep in mind that while the convention is located in New Jersey, the best place to take the Ferry is from Battery Park in Manhattan. It’s the easiest port boarding location to use with public transportation. The ferry is run by Statue Cruises.

Important to know: Statue Cruises goes to both the statue and Ellis Island. The ferry you will be on will stop at both locations. Here is a link where you can buy tickets ahead of time, buying tickets in advance is highly suggested: https://www.statuecruises.com/statue-liberty-and-ellis-island-tickets#/

Depending on what you want to do at the Statue of Liberty, you should consider buying tickets now! Also, Ellis Island is really a great place to go if you are interested in learning about the history of your family or of the United States!

  1. Take the hotel shuttle to Secaucus Junction
  2. Take NJ Transit to New York Penn Station
  3. At Penn Station, switch to MTA transportation, you will need to have a NYC metro card and take the #2 or #3 subway down to the Wall Street station.
  4. From there it’s a ten-minute walk. Walking directions will depend on where you exit the station, it would be best to use walking directions on your phone from there. Also, around that part of Manhattan, there are plenty of tourist signs with maps. Use Statue Cruises Battery Park as your search term for the walking directions.

Enjoy your visit!
